Marking myPortfolio assignments

Hopefully you would have read in the myCourse self help guide how to find and grade a submission. If not then don't panic as you can view it below:

How to view and grade the assingments

1. In the Course Overview block on your myCourse homepage click 'You have assignments that need attention' to reveal a summary of assignment. If there are any unmarked submissions click the 'Submissions not graded link' link to go directly to the Grading table.

2.Click on the the 'View/grade all submissions' link to bring up the Grading Table.

3. There are a number of ways to access the 'Submission Status' screen where the grades and feedback are entered.

  • In the 'Edit' column click 'Edit' and then click 'Grade'
  • OR in the 'Grade' column click on the 'page/pencil' icon

4. The Submission status page will show all details relating to the students' submission and provide a link to the page or collection that has been submitted from myPortfolio.

5. Select a grade from the dropdown menu.

6. Once marking is complete the submissions need to be re-locked. This can be done in two ways; either individually by clicking 'Edit' then 'Prevent submission changes' or by ticking the boxes in the 'Select' column and clicking 'Go' next to the 'With selected...' menu

Releasing grades to students

1. Using the filter in the Options at the bottom of the Grading table, select 'Ready for release'

2. Tick the box at the top of the 'select' column to select all student in the table, choose 'Set marking workflow state' in the 'With selected...' dropdown menu and click 'Go'

3. You will then see a list of student names for review if you wish to double check your selection.

Set 'Marking workflow state' to 'Released' and 'Notify students to 'Yes' and click save changes

4. Students will then receive an email informing them that their submission has been marked and provide them with a link to their submission
